What is your opinion on the man-made stone that is so commonly used as a veneer these days? Do you think it will hold up like the naturally made materials?
Answer: Nothing wrong with prefab veneer if it stays indoors . Outdoors not so much. Sun, snow, wind, rain does quick a number on veneer , considering the veneer is alot thinner than actual brick and stone . If done properly a brick structure should last minimum of 20 years without seeing the first signs of joint degradation . Usually starts on the north and west sides of the structure. We can’t really say how long veneer will last since it’s pretty new but that one depends of the manufacture warranty also . Couldn’t tell how long it lasts but We can tell you just by weight and density of veneer , it won’t last as long . Stick to real brick and stone is our opinion.
